We are a contemporary, family-run business with a traditional client focus.
Crime Prevention Services was founded in 1982 to provide the very best in security solutions, with a focus on maintaining an exceptional level of service to both commercial and domestic clients.
Industry accredited to Gold Standard by NSI (National Security Inspectorate) we offer a 360° in-house service, from bespoke design, installation, maintenance and monitoring of systems via our onsite NSI Gold-accredited ARC. We work closely with our clients to advise and implement the most effective solution for their fire and security needs. Our team of engineers works remotely at various locations across the UK, so we can guarantee an engineer onsite the same day or within a 24-hour period.
We continue to grow our business year on year, building a strong foundation that allows us to attract new talent, while also investing in our current team. With an efficiently designed departmental structure, we are big enough to deliver and small enough to care.
Our portfolio includes clients within the following sectors: FMCG, Retail, Education, Utilities, Transportation, Health & Wellness, Arts & Culture, Technology and Local Authority. We provide our services to The North West, Midlands, The North, East, West and South of England including Wales and Scotland.

MEET THE TEAM
Karen Farrell, Managing Director
In 2006 Karen stepped in and took over the business, becoming the Managing Director.
Karen is a very hands-on Managing Director and there isn't anything that goes on within the business that she doesn't know about. Karen is heavily involved within the Finance Department and is extremely passionate about our clients, ensuring they have a positive journey with us from start to finish. Karen is an extremely diplomatic and fair leader of our team and treats each employee as though we are part of the Farrell family.
Her passion for Crime Prevention Services Ltd and the service we provide to our clients has filtered through the whole business ethos.

Brad Farrell, Director
Brad Farrell, Geoff and Karen's son, has worked his way up through the company as a Director at Crime Prevention Services Ltd and works closely alongside the team within the Sales & Business Development department.
Having joined the company upon finishing school, Brad has worked his way through various roles and departments in the company, including an extensive period working as an engineer on the tools! Brad's commitment to learning from senior members of the team out in the field alongside within the office environment has gained him the trust and loyalty of the team.
Our History
Crime Prevention Services was founded by the late Geoff Farrell in 1982
Geoff began his career as a sales representative for a renowned photocopier company. However, after a while he decided it was time to start his own venture.
With the support of his friend Dave Evans, who remained the technical manager even after three decades, they drove the company to significant success before relocating to a site with old farm buildings in Northop.
- Crime Prevention Services Ltd was founded by Geoff Farrell in 1982. The business began operating in Deeside, and year on year continued to grow significantly in employees and clients. A second office was opened in Clitheroe to help assist with the ever-growing demand on installing and maintaining security systems.
- In 1989 a purpose-built office was built on the Westbound side of the A55 as you approach into Chester, replacing a derelict farm and local eyesore. This building, following additional renovation and expansion, is still our Head Office today.
- In 2001, our very own in-house Alarm Receiving Centre was built, which was a pinnacle moment for Crime Prevention Services Ltd, as we were the first company in Wales to achieve the coveted NACOSS Gold accreditations for all disciplines of security. A security company with their own Alarm Receiving Centre is almost unheard of and this sets us apart from other security companies.
- Crime Prevention Services Ltd went on to win a contract with a National Supermarket Chain which grew each department within the company significantly and put the company in a position to tender for more national contracts, a trend which endures today.
- In 2006 the CPS family were hard-hit by the unexpected tragic passing of the company founder, Geoff Farrell. Karen stepped in after Geoff's passing and took over the business, becoming the Managing Director.
- Year on year Crime Prevention Services continues to grow. Karen has carried on Geoff's vision of long-term clients and employee retention and continues to be committed to providing bespoke electronic security and fire safety systems to a range of clients, some of whom we have been working with for decades.
