Supporting Tŷ Gobaith: A Proud Day at the Clogau Clays Charity Shoot

At Crime Prevention Services, we are proud to support causes that make a real difference in the lives of others. This year, we once again had the honour of sponsoring the Clogau Clays Charity Shoot, an incredible event held in support of Tŷ Gobaith Children's Hospice – a charity very close to our hearts.

About the Clogau Clays event

The event, hosted at the beautiful Bodnant Estate, was a resounding success, raising an outstanding £61,000 in just one day. This vital funding helps Tŷ Gobaith continue its essential work, providing care and support to life-limited children and their families across North Wales.

This charity shoot has been a key part of our charitable commitments since its inception in 2016, and this year marked our 11th consecutive year of involvement. The event brings together businesses, volunteers, and supporters from across the region, and we are always humbled by the generosity and community spirit on display.

Event highlights

One of the standout moments this year was seeing our MD Karen Farrell recognised in the official event programme for her incredible dedication. Karen has been involved in the event since the very beginning and once again ran the Competition Stand this year – a highlight for many participants. Over the years, her energy, warmth, and fundraising efforts have helped raise over £15,000 for Tŷ Gobaith, making a lasting impact.

Karen’s son, Director of Crime Prevention Services, Brad Farrell, also took part in the shoot and shared his pride in seeing his mother’s commitment acknowledged:

“Proud to see my mum, Karen Farrell, running the Competition Stand again this year. She’s been involved since the very first shoot back in 2016 and has helped raise over £15,000 over the years. Incredible to see her recognised in the event programme too – well deserved!”

A heartfelt history

Over the years, Karen Farrell has played a truly pivotal role in supporting Tŷ Gobaith, going above and beyond in her fundraising efforts and advocacy for the charity. Her dedication is both professional and deeply personal, supporting children and families through the work of Tŷ Gobaith is something that resonates strongly with her values.

Karen’s commitment was further recognised when she was appointed High Sheriff of Clwyd for 2024–2025, a prestigious role within the community. As part of her High Sheriff duties, she selected Tŷ Gobaith as one of her chosen charities, continuing her longstanding relationship with the hospice and reinforcing her desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those it supports. During her term, she has continued to shine a light on the work of Tŷ Gobaith and help raise both awareness and crucial funding.

Whether volunteering her time, organising events, or simply using her platform to advocate for the hospice, Karen’s contributions have made a real difference over the years, and her efforts are a source of great pride for all of us at Crime Prevention Services.

At Crime Prevention Services, this is everything we stand for. We are a family-run business driven by purpose, compassion, and responsibility. We firmly believe that businesses have a powerful role to play in creating positive change. That’s why we’re committed to using our platform not just to protect, but to support, uplift, and give back to the communities around us.

Thank you to our community

We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of this year’s event – from fellow sponsors and generous donors to the dedicated volunteers and organisers who made it all possible: Sytner Land Rover, Thornley Leisure Parks, Wynne Construction, CVAM Ltd, Vortex Construction Limited, and of course, the stunning Bodnant Welsh Food for hosting us so beautifully.

As a business, we are deeply committed to giving back to the community and supporting charitable initiatives that align with our values. We believe that strong communities are built through compassion, connection, and continued support for those who need it most.

Clays shoot

We look forward to continuing our partnership with Tŷ Gobaith and many more years of meaningful impact through events like the Clogau Clays Charity Shoot.

Thank you for being part of something so special.
